PRIVACY POLICY
THE SHORT VERSION
- Party.exe has no accounts, no adverts, no analytics and no tracking. It never asks for your name, email, location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone.
- Version 1.0 makes no internet connections of its own. Your settings, scores and nicknames stay on your phone.
- An optional AI assistant may be switched on in a later update. If it is, you will be told before your first message, your questions go to our server and to OpenAI to write a reply, and we do not keep your chats. Section 4 explains exactly what happens.
- Party.exe is for players aged 13 and over. Nothing can be bought in it.
1. WHO WE ARE
Party.exe is developed by Sm4rtie and published by Faisal El Mais, who is responsible for the app and for this policy (“we”, “us”). Contact: support@sm4rtie.dev.
REVIEW: confirm the publisher's country of residence, and whether a postal address must be published for the places the app will be sold in.
2. WHAT STAYS ON YOUR PHONE
The app saves a small amount of information on your phone so it works the way you left it. It is stored only on the device, in the app's own storage:
- Settings: sound, vibration and volume, Reduced Motion, Reduced Effects, High Contrast, Larger Text, the AI assistant switch, and your default bot difficulty, bot count and round count.
- The age check: whether you passed it, and a broad age band (13–15, 16–17 or 18+). The month and year you type are never stored or sent anywhere.
- Progress: matches played, the last game you played, favourite games, best scores, Daily Challenge results and whether you have seen the tutorial.
- Names typed into a lobby: yours in Single Player and your group's in Party Mode, so nobody has to retype them. Nicknames are fine.
- Only if you use the AI assistant (when available): that you agreed to the AI notice, how many AI messages you have used today, and a random code the app creates for the assistant (see section 4).
We cannot see any of this. Settings > Reset Local Progress erases your progress and names, and uninstalling the app erases everything. Your phone's own backup (iCloud or Google) may include app data, under your Apple or Google account's settings.
3. WHAT LEAVES YOUR PHONE
In version 1.0: nothing. The app does not connect to the internet by itself. The only exceptions are links you tap yourself: Contact Support opens your email app, and Privacy Policy or Terms of Use open this website in your browser. Those apps and this website handle that under their own settings (see section 5).
If a later version adds an online feature, this policy will be updated first and the app will explain the feature before it is used.
4. THE AI ASSISTANT (WHEN AVAILABLE)
Party.exe's built-in Game Help answers rules and tips on your phone, offline. A later update may add an optional AI assistant for open-ended questions about Party.exe. If and when it is switched on:
- It is only offered to players the age check places at 16 or over. Younger players keep the offline Game Help.
- Before your first message, the app tells you it is an AI (not a person), that your messages go to our server and to OpenAI, and asks you to agree. You can say no, and you can switch it off at any time in Settings.
What is sent
When you ask the AI something the built-in help cannot answer, the app sends our server: your question (up to 300 characters), the last few messages of that chat, the name of the game you have open (if any), and a random code the app created for the assistant. The code is not your phone's ID or advertising ID; it is made from random numbers, is not linked to anything else, and disappears when you delete the app. Like any internet connection, the request also shows your IP address and a generic software label.
What our server does
- It checks the message automatically for safety. A message that looks like it contains personal details (an email address, phone number, street address, link, social media name or similar) is not sent to the AI; you get a reminder not to share them. Messages suggesting someone may be in danger get a reply pointing to trusted adults and helplines.
- It sends the question and the recent chat to OpenAI, whose AI model writes the reply, with an anonymous code made by scrambling your random code. This lets OpenAI detect misuse without knowing who you are.
- It checks the reply for safety before you see it.
- It does not save your questions or the replies, and does not write them to its logs.
- To apply fair limits (a few messages a day, with a short wait between them), it keeps a scrambled, one-way code made from your IP address and from the random code, next to a count. Your IP address and random code themselves are not stored. These counts are deleted within two days.
What OpenAI does
OpenAI processes the chat to write the reply. Under OpenAI's API terms, it does not use the data to train its models and keeps it for safety (abuse) monitoring for up to 30 days. We ask OpenAI not to store the conversation for any other purpose. OpenAI's privacy policy: openai.com/policies/privacy-policy.
Reporting a reply
If you tap REPORT on an AI reply, that reply and the reason you chose are sent to us and kept for up to 90 days so we can review it and improve the assistant. Nothing about you, and not your question, is included.
5. OTHER COMPANIES INVOLVED
| Company | Role | When |
|---|---|---|
| Apple (App Store) / Google (Google Play) | Distribute the app and run your phone. If you have chosen to share analytics or crash reports with app developers in your phone's settings, they may give us anonymous, combined statistics and crash reports. | Always, under their own privacy policies |
| OpenAI | Writes AI assistant replies | Only if the AI assistant is available and you use it |
| Railway | Hosts our server. Like any host, its network may record technical connection logs (such as IP addresses and times) under its own policy. | Only if the AI assistant is available and you use it |
| Netlify | Hosts this website. It may record visitors' IP addresses in its server logs. | Only when you visit this website |
We do not sell information, share it for advertising, or use any analytics or advertising SDK.
6. PERMISSIONS AND NOTIFICATIONS
- Party.exe asks for no permissions that need your approval. On Android it declares only the standard Internet permission (which never shows a prompt and is used only by optional online features), plus an internal one Android adds for messages between parts of the app itself. The iPhone app requests no permissions.
- Party.exe never uses your camera, microphone, location, contacts or photos.
- Version 1.0 sends no notifications.
7. HOW LONG THINGS ARE KEPT
| Information | Where | Kept for |
|---|---|---|
| Settings, progress, names, age-check result | Your phone | Until you reset progress or delete the app |
| AI questions and replies | Our server | Not stored - only held in memory while the reply is written (and a reply for up to 10 minutes, so a resent message is not answered twice) |
| AI questions and replies | OpenAI | Up to 30 days, for abuse monitoring |
| Scrambled limit codes and counts | Our server | Deleted within two days |
| Reported AI replies and the reason | Our server | Up to 90 days |
| Daily totals (number of questions, cost) with no information about anyone | Our server | About 13 months |
8. SECURITY
Connections to our server use HTTPS. The keys for OpenAI are kept only on the server, never in the app. The server stores as little as possible, scrambles identifiers before using them, and its operator controls are protected by a long secret token. No system is perfectly secure, so please never type personal details into the AI assistant.
9. YOUR CHOICES AND REQUESTS
- Delete your data: Settings > Reset Local Progress removes your progress and names; deleting the app removes everything it stored, including the assistant's random code.
- Stop using the AI: switch it off in Settings, or simply don't agree to the AI notice.
- Ask us anything: email support@sm4rtie.dev. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to the use of your information. Because we do not keep information that identifies you, there is usually nothing we can look up - but we will always answer, normally within 30 days. To have a reported reply removed, tell us roughly when you reported it and what it said.
- You can also contact your local data protection authority.
10. CHILDREN AND TEENAGERS
Party.exe is for players aged 13 and over and is not directed at children under 13. When the app first opens it asks for a month and year of birth, without hinting at the age needed; players under 13 cannot continue. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the AI assistant, contact us and we will help.
For players under 18, the AI assistant (when available) has extra safeguards: it is offered only from age 16, it reminds players not to share personal details, it answers only questions about Party.exe, every message and reply is checked for safety, and messages about being unsafe are answered with a pointer to trusted adults and helplines.
11. LEGAL BASES AND INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS
Where data protection law requires a legal basis (for example in the EU and UK), the AI assistant relies on your consent, given in the app before your first message, and on our legitimate interest in keeping the service safe and its costs fair (the scrambled limit codes and reports). OpenAI and Railway may process information in the United States and other countries, under their contractual safeguards.
12. CHANGES AND CONTACT
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top, and the app's own copy (Settings > Privacy Policy) is updated with the next version. If a change affects what leaves your phone, the app will tell you before it happens.
